2024-2025 STUDIO POLICIES

You may pay your registration via check/cash/card at the front desk. Make checks payable to Music on Main. Please read the attached policies prior to completing the registration.

CURRENT STUDENT REGISTRATION

Current students need to re-register by the end of September (unless you have registered during the recent summer months).  Please read the attached updated policies prior to renewing your registration. The annual registration is Student $35 or Family $55 (2 or more students enrolled in lessons at MOM). You may pay your registration via check/cash/card at the front desk. Make checks payable to Music on Main.

WITHDRAWAL

Students leaving the program during the year are asked to provide a 30-day notice so a new student can be scheduled for that time slot in advance.

MONTHLY TUITION

Monthly tuition is $90 per month. Monthly tuition includes a 30 minute, in-person, private lesson each week with an assigned instructor. Tuition is due by the 10th of each month. A late fee of $5 will be charged for fees paid after the 10th of the month.  If the fees remain unpaid on the 15th the student may lose the time slot.  Tuition is paid directly to the instructor.  Each instructor will let you know their preferred method of payments (cash, check, PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, etc.).

BANDs and GROUP LESSONS

Monthly tuition will vary by instructor.  In order to participate in a group or band, students are normally expected to also take a private lesson during the week. If you have any questions about the band or group lesson options, please ask the front desk.

STUDENT ATTENDANCE

A student is scheduled for a specific lesson day and time. If under 18, the parent/guardian is responsible for student attendance.  Instructors may occasionally allow a lesson to be rescheduled at their discretion if given advance notice  However, rescheduling is not guaranteed.

INSTRUCTOR ATTENDANCE

If an instructor misses a lesson that is not a scheduled break (sickness, family emergency, etc.) the student will be offered a make-up lesson or be credited for one lesson on the next month’s tuition.

WEATHER CLOSINGS

Should the studio have to close for inclement weather, a make-up lesson will be scheduled or a credit given on the next month’s tuition. In some cases, the instructor may offer a remote lesson. We do not follow the school system on inclement weather closings. In case of a weather closing, students will be contacted in a timely manner by the instructor or office staff.  Weather closings will be announced on social media, in addition to calls or texts.

STUDIO BREAKS

Tuition includes studio breaks for holidays including Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Easter, Memorial Day, Christmas and Independence Day. See the attached calendar.

SUMMER LESSONS

The studio does not close for the summer; however we do take a summer break during the Independence Day week.  Students are expected to attend lessons as much as possible and continue to pay monthly tuition through the summer to keep the current time slot. We often offer additional activities such as music camps, group classes and workshops during the summer months so stay tuned!

DURING LESSON

  • Phone use is not permitted during a lesson unless the instructor has given permission or in case of an emergency. Students will be asked to keep the phone on silent during the lesson to avoid disruption.

  • Be on time for the lesson. We encourage you to come a few minutes early especially if you play an instrument that needs to be taken out of a case. The instructor is not responsible for making-up time loss due to tardiness.

  • Students are expected to be respectful of the instructor.

  • Students are expected to be prepared for the lesson. This includes bringing all materials needed and having practiced the skills assigned from the previous lesson. Materials include the instrument (if applicable), lesson books and/or sheet music assigned currently. Teachers are not responsible for having student books on hand. Students who do not come prepared with all materials necessary may have to forfeit their lesson without a makeup. Student growth is dependent on the time and effort put in during and after the lesson.

  • Family members are welcome to observe a lesson. We will have a Spring showcase in May and a Winter showcase in December to allow students to perform for family, friends and members of the community.

  • Remember to take all your personal belongings with you at the end of the lesson! The studio cannot be responsible for any lost items. If you have lost an item, please ask your instructor and the front desk if an item has been turned in.

WAITING AREA

  • Children younger than 8 in the waiting area must have adult supervision.

  • Please do not wander around the studio or touch the instruments.

  • Please avoid making phone calls while in the waiting room.

  • The studio cannot be responsible for student supervision after a lesson.  Please let the instructor and/or front desk (704-986-0130) know if you are running late in returning to pick up a student.
